Graphene Oxide as MALDI-TOF MS matrix to detect Melamine and Cyanuric acid in milk powder.

In this experiment, we use graphene oxide as a matrix of MALDI-TOF MS to detect melamine in milk powder. We explore the different of concentration and preparation methods of matrix including dilution ratio, pH values and ration of TFA in graphene oxide and so on. To compare with the conventional method, our new prepared matrix provided a high reproducibility with good desorption ionization effect. This matrix was suited for the detection of melamine in real sample. The π-π interaction between the matrix and analyst was believed to play an important role during the association and dissociation process. Our study developed a new simple low-cost and convenience method to prepar the matrix in the MALDI and the method could be used in various sample.
